Positron Emission Tomography (PET) tracks signs of energy generation in the brain and generates color coded, metabolic brain "maps" from them.

Also called, "PET imaging" or a "PET scan", which is a sophisticated technique that gives doctors a unique image of the body using positrons. These are tiny particles emitted from a radioactive substance put into a patient’s bloodstream. Doctors who study mental development use PET tests to measure glucose metabolism and other aspects of energy generation in areas of the brain. The really exciting news is, people who practice spiritual exercises, and even people who take certain supplements for a few months, can see "dormant" areas on their brains light up—once they have the right chemistry to improve their metabolism. In addition, with PET activation, a person's brain’s metabolism also becomes activated.

And if that’s not enough, clinical studies document significant increases in the generation of beneficial "alpha and theta waves" in the brain!
NANOTEC - Living nanomachines - people?
Nanotechnology, shortened to "Nanotech", is the study of the control of matter on an atomic and molecular scale. Generally nanotechnology deals with structures of the size 100 nanometers or smaller, and involves developing materials or devices within that size. Nanotechnology is very diverse, ranging from novel extensions of conventional device physics, to completely new approaches based upon molecular self-assembly, to developing new materials with dimensions on the nanoscale, even to speculation on whether we can directly control matter on the atomic scale. There has been much debate on the future of implications of nanotechnology. Nanotechnology has the potential to create many new materials and devices with wide-ranging applications, such as in medicine, electronics, and energy production. On the other hand, nanotechnology raises many of the same issues as with any introduction of new technology, including concerns about toxicity and environmental impact of nanomaterials, and their potential effects on global economics, as well as speculation about various doomsday scenarios. These concerns have led to a debate among advocacy groups and governments on whether special regulation of nanotechnology is warranted.
The main source of vital energy for interaction between "living nanomachines" and meditation to deliberately or unintentionally tap into the physical vacuum state seems to be Zero Point Energy. The main source of vital energy (and, most importantly, morphogenetic/form-building ) for both cells of living organisms including bacteria and viruses is the "ZERO POINT ENERGY" (ZPE) existing in a physical vacuum (as proven during extensive explorations by Russian scientist Dr Sergeyev and his group in the 1960s, assisted by individuals trained in "psi-micro-vision" [ e. g. "ESP of Quarks and Superstrings" by Dr S. Phillips; 199 psychics].
Spiritual techniques and disciplines, such as meditation, can sometimes further develop the physical vehicle of people to make the central nervous system stronger, even independent of the availability of food ("autotrophic"): capable perhaps of extracting vital energy directly from the inner space/vacuum state, and acquiring extra-normal abilities e g, clairvoyance, PK (psychokinesis), levitation - and other abilities such as those acquired by Father Padre Pio, Therese Newman, many saints, and even by Jedi Knights /in the film Star Wars). It may be assumed that their spiritual practices exemplified intently working on development of nano-level technologies, capable of enhancing the process of biological (and also non-biological) extraction of ZPE.

Anyone engaged in intense spiritual practices is urged to use discretion and great caution so as not to precipitously unleash too great an energy surge or to do this too quickly, thereby precipitating undesirable physical and psychological reactions. It is advisable that such development be undertaken slowly and gradually with assistance of an experienced teacher.
The simplest experimental evidence for the existence of zero-point energy in quantum field theory is the Casimir effect. This effect was proposed in 1948 by Dutch physicist Hendrik B. G. Casimir, who considered the quantized electromagnetic field between a pair of grounded, neutral metal plates. A small force can be measured between the plates, which is directly ascribable to a change of the zero-point energy of the electromagnetic field between the plates. Not only is the Casimir effect easily and accurately measured by scientists in specially designed nanoscale devices, but it increasingly needs to be taken into account in the design and manufacturing processes of small devices. It can exert significant forces and stress on nanoscale devices, causing them to bend, twist, stick and break. Other experimental evidence includes spontaneous emissions of light (photons) by atoms and nuclei, observed Lamb shift of positions of energy levels of atoms, anomalous value of electron's gyromagnetic ratio, etc.

The Casimir effect has established zero point energy as an uncontroversial and scientifically accepted phenomenon. However, the term zero point energy has also become associated with a highly controversial area of human endeavour - the design and invention of so-called "free energy" devices, similar to perpetual motion machines in the past.
It is quite natural that in Russia, as in most technologically advanced countries, nanotech research was (and is) closely associated with biological Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) research. Countries are engaged in applied study of natural nanomachines, which have evolved over millenia, including bacteria and viruses. Even a superficial glance at this area (including "non-biological nanotech") reveals the key nanotech problem. That is, the need for an efficient source of unlimited power coupled with the need for an efficient and reliable means for regulatory control.
Another area of research in the field of zero point energy is how it could be used for propulsion, NASA and British Aerospace both have programs running to this end though practical technology is still a long way off. Rueda, Haisch and Puthoff[1][2][3] have proposed that an accelerated massive object interacts with the zero point field to produce an electromagnetic drag force which gives rise to the phenomenon of inertia; see stochastic electrodynamics.

In physics, the zero-point energy is the lowest possible energy that a quantum mechanical physical system may possess; it is the energy of the ground state of the system. All quantum mechanical systems have a zero point energy. The term arises commonly in reference to the ground state of the quantum harmonic oscillator and its null oscillations. In quantum field theory, it is a synonym for the vacuum energy, an amount of energy associated with the vacuum of empty space. In cosmology, the vacuum energy is taken to be the origin of the cosmological constant. Experimentally, the zero-point energy of the vacuum leads directly to the Casimir effect, and is directly observable in nanoscale devices.
Because zero point energy is the lowest possible energy a system can have, this energy cannot be removed from the system. Despite the definition, the concept of zero-point energy, and the hint of a possibility of extracting "free energy" from the vacuum, has attracted the attention of amateur inventors. Numerous perpetual motion and other pseudoscientific devices, often called free energy devices, exploiting the idea, have been proposed. As a result of this activity, and its intriguing theoretical explanation, it has taken on a life of its own in popular culture, appearing in science fiction books, games and movies.
In classical physics, the energy of a system is relative, and is defined only in relation to some given state (often called reference state). Typically, one might associate a motionless system with zero energy, although doing so is purely arbitrary. In quantum physics, it is natural to associate the energy with the expectation value of a certain operator, the Hamiltonian of the system. For almost all quantum-mechanical systems, the lowest possible expectation value that this operator can obtain is not zero; this lowest possible value is called the zero-point energy. (Caveat: If an arbitrary constant is added to the Hamiltonian, we get another theory which is physically equivalent to the previous Hamiltonian. Because of this, only relative energy is observable, not the absolute energy.)
