The purpose for meditating and for this web site is to encourage you to be in service to God and to mankind  by being a Spiritual Warrior. Meditators are a non-violent peace force winning battles and private wars without violence and weapons, with only tools for changing the way of knowing , thinking, and behavior that can be used to eliminate conflicts; tools such as prayer and meditation.  In this context powerful tools for spiritual warfare, shielding and overall security are the same tools as for peacemaking,  Love and Light.

As a spiritual warrior you are responsible for your own personal training program.  We trust that the guidance to be found here will assist you with your training. The slogan, "Be All You Can Be" implies that you first learn to "Be." Take a little time each morning and evening to be in Silence.  surrendering thoughts and feelings as a condition for entering a space of Absolute Silence. That is, learn what it means to "be" with nothing else added. Discover the value of being in silence regularly at the  beginning and end of each day, or as often as you can. Discover the power and the benefits that accrue to you personally and even to any perceived adversaries.  You can experience this fundamental level of "Being" by centering your awareness using either one of two methods, a spiritual method or a secular (non-religious) method.  In the final analysis training your mind and body to experience the depths of Silence equips you with a strong armor and  shield of protection.

Herein you will find a human technology (the New Paradigm) that relies on Silence as a basis for  transformation. In practical terms this armor is cognitive resonance and eugenic radiance , a new paradigm for problem solving and choices. We also call it your Peace Shield. Whether you realize it or not, you are already in basic training for "spiritual warfare" and for being a peacemaker every moment of your life. We use a sacred word to quiet the mind and enter deeper into the Silence. The meditative process seems to provide this armor and invisible protection. An important consideration for using a spiritual method for meditation, such as the Peace Shield Meditation adopted by the PMC, is that transcending mental activity brings a sense of being in the presence of God, plus it offers many of the same physical and mental benefits as the secular approach. Directing your awareness inward brings the fullest experience of the Divine Presence in a state of Absolute Silence.

Ideas presented herein for spiritual defense using the so-called spiritual method are intended to  help each person draw closer to being constantly in communion with the One True God. Those ideas are seeds for  well-being that make you stronger, more peaceful, and provide protection and shielding whenever danger is present.  Another consideration is that when a critical mass of people experience the "Peace Shield Effect", there can conceivably be an end to wars, terrorism, violence, abuses, and other manifestations of evil in the world.  We urge you to return to that inner space often.

The Pentagon Meditation Club (PMC) was active at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. for a period of over twenty years from 1976 to 1996, when it ceased operations at the Pentagon.  I established the Club for stress management and spiritual renewal for military personnel and later began to study relationships between prayer/meditation and peace -- both inner peace and peace in world affairs.  This web site and the web site of Peace Makers Institute ( http://peacemakersinstitute.org )document the results of Case Studies, examples of transformation made possible through meditations of large numbers of people .  A central focus of our investigations involved working with individuals using different meditation methodologies which could provide a technology useful for Spiritual Defense.  We think that the Case Studies described herein do demonstrate that technology.  Summaries of "SDIs" (Spiritual Defense Initiatives) are summarized and reported here.

We found that, if you want peace and want to improve the quality of life for yourself and for everyone else, a program of daily centering prayer and meditation balanced with positive action is a winning combination.  We found that people who pray and meditate supply something special that is essential for the success of diplomacy and military operations to realize peace.  While this interior process is a necessary condition for conflict resolution, by itself it is not sufficient to realize impossible dreams, effective action is also necessary.

(See Steps to Peace  http//peacemakersinstitute.org ).

The empowerment usually comes slowly, because it is necessary to gradually refine one's nervous system.  In this meditative process thinking, feelings, and emotions, change and those changes in turn result in positive actions.

Today the call is going out once again to recruit a Spiritual Defense Force comprised of men, women, and children from all walks of life - a Network of Light.  Spiritual Troopers and Peacemakers are needed more than ever.

We salute everyone who is committed to a balanced program of daily prayer, meditation, and positive actions.  They are the real peacemakers. Our promise to you, is that whatever you ask and earnestly seek can be yours by starting a program of meditation transcending on God's Name. This is the essence of centering prayer, what we call Peace Shield Meditation.

"My desire is to end this plague of war."

General George Washington

Even General Washington's seemingly impossible dream for ending the curse of war can be realized. The empowerment that comes to you will bring blessings and gifts beyond expectation and at the same time contribute to realization of the highest aspirations of mankind.  It is to this end that we want you to enlist in this campaign and to spread this message of hope for a better world. Test the process for yourself.
