"They didn't break bread or drink any wine. They heard no sermon, there was no liturgy. But those who gathered in the dimly lit sanctuary communed nonetheless, sharing their faith with each other and their Lord through song and prayer. " That is Taizé prayer (pronounced teh-ZAY).
This loosely structured Christian service features
scripture reading, repetitive singing, and meditative silence - a
combination of traditional forms in a contemporary way. The goal is to
enable participants to remain open to the voice of God and discover the
prayer within themselves. |
